3 Cs of Skill Development
- Corporative
- Your Uke does nothing, just lets you try the new technique.
- Contested
- Your Uke offers some resistance or introduces a variable.
- Combative
- Using the technique in sparring or in a real fight.
Offensive Defense
- Your primary focus should be to attack back; therefore, it is always best for your defensive movements to still do damage to your opponents. Using tools such as Destruction Blocks, Sectors, and Cut Blocks you can punish your opponent the moment they attack you. Think: “If you can block, you can hit”
4 Gate
- The left and right side of the head are the top two gates.
- The left and right side of the torso is the lower two gates.
- With only two arms the body cannot effectively protect all four gates and remain in position to attack
- While using HIA and PIA we expose this weakness by attacking one gate to open another.
